In person downtown, or secure telehealth from home. I see patients across the Treasure Valley, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Kuna, and Garden City, and anywhere else in Idaho.

Common questions

Before you reach out.

Are you a psychiatrist?
I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), not a physician psychiatrist. In Idaho that means I do the same core work most people come for: psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and prescribing and managing psychiatric medication, including controlled substances. I also provide psychotherapy. If your care ever needs something outside my scope, I'll tell you plainly and help you get there.
I've seen a psychiatrist or therapist before. How is this different?
Many people arrive after a clinic where they saw a different provider each visit, or where medication and therapy never talked to each other. Here you get one clinician who knows your history, handles both the prescribing and the talk-based work, and stays with you over time.
Do you take insurance?
Boise Psychiatry works with several plans, along with self-pay options. Current details are on the insurance page.
Do you see patients in person or only by telehealth?
Both. I see patients in person at my downtown Boise office and by secure telehealth anywhere in Idaho, including Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Kuna, Garden City, and the rest of the Treasure Valley. You choose whichever fits, visit to visit.
Do you treat adults and adolescents?
Yes, I evaluate and treat both. For younger patients, family involvement is part of the process where it's appropriate.

Jake is a great listener and provides a lot of comfort. He did research before prescribing medication and I appreciated that a lot!
